We start from a couple of certainties, from several interesting young people to get to know better, from the evaluation of players already known in the red and white environment to understand if they will be useful to the Unahotels version 2021 2022. Under the magnifying glass of coach Attilio Caja, of the his deputy Federico Fucà and the management of Pallacanestro Reggiana there are, in this month of June, above all young people. Those who are training in the gym together with veteran Baldi Rossi and captain Leonardo Candi and those who, owned by white and red but on loan, have finished or are about to end their labors.

The certainties concern Mouhamet Diouf and Carlo Porfilio. The Italian-Senegalese talent has returned from a year where, alongside impromptu exploits, he often seemed immature for the A1 series. However, the potential is there and the room for improvement is wide; for this reason the company is oriented not to turn him on loan in A2, but to consider him in the technical plans for the championship to come, working hard on him in the summer. On the other hand, the technical staff and management believe Porfilio is ready to gain experience in a challenging tournament that gives ample space to Italian players. The winger born in 2001 has several requests from A2, the Reggiana Basketball is evaluating them and will decide quite shortly, together with the athlete, the best destination to continue his growth path.

What is yet to be understood, however, is the immediate future of the other young neo-professional under the Unahotels: Marco Giannini. This month will help to understand if the 19-year-old from Parma will remain on the roster in the top flight or will he too begin to gain experience elsewhere. With regard to loans to return to the fold, particular attention is paid to Jacopo Soviero, fresh from a series B played in a more than discreet way in force at Bologna Basket 2016 (8 points on average in 26 ‘on the parquet). His skills as a point guard could be useful to give a few minutes of breath to those who will be the starting directors next year.

With him he will return to Reggio, as soon as the playoffs are over to go up to A2 with Cividale del Friuli, at the court of Stefano Pillastrini, Alessandro Cipolla. On the other hand, it is more difficult to define the future of the center Alessandro Vigori, who has just recovered from an injury.

Caja and her staff in these weeks will also evaluate the athletes who have joined the red and white group in recent days: Denis Alibegovic, Francesco Oboe and the Italian-Nigerian center Richmond Aririguzoh, who will stay in Reggio for a week back from the first season as a pro in Denmark.
