Spooner is banking on veterans like shortstop Remi Patry, who plays at the US college level for Oklahoma Wesleyan University, pitcher and receiver Tyler Charette, who has just signed up to a US Division II squad after playing at Laval last year, as well as his son Kevin, who accepted the offer of a Division I college in Missouri. However, they will have to leave in mid-August, at the end of the LBEQ season. The 32-game campaign for each team, inside their division only to limit travel, is due to end on August 28, after which there will be a playoffs to crown Circuit champions Rodger Brulotte.
