Olympic Day is a mobilization action every year on June 23 around Olympic and sporting values aimed at the general public, license holders, school groups and leisure centers. The first Olympic Day was celebrated on June 23, 1948 by nine National Olympic Committees which organized ceremonies in their respective countries. In 1987 the IOC “Sport for All” Commission established the Olympic Day race to encourage all national committees to celebrate this day and to promote the practice of mass sport.

Today Olympic Day is much more than just a race or sporting event. Its organization is based on three pillars: Move, Learn and Discover.
