In the decisive second round of the selection, Sevastova (WTA 57), who was awarded the sixth number in the preliminaries, gave way to the American Kristina Makheil (WTA 96) with the result 6-3, 3-6, 5-7.
In the third set, the Latvian tennis player did not serve the victory in the match twice with the result 5-2.
In the first round, the woman from Liepaja won the Japanese Nao Hibino (WTA 84) with 6-0, 7-6 (7: 3).
For achieving the second round of the qualification, Sevastova earned 13 WTA single-player ranking points.
A place in the main tournament is guaranteed for Latvia’s first racket Alona Ostapenko.
The UK tournament will take place from 21 to 26 June.
This is one of five lawn races in the UK and Germany that will serve as a warm-up tournament for the upcoming Wimbledon tournament in June and July. The third Grand Slam of the season will take place from June 28 to July 10.
