Pablo López seeks to extend his yoke against Nationals

The IoandDepot Park in the city of Miami is set to be the setting for the series between the Marlins and Washington Nationals, with Pablo López at the helm trying to expand his dominance at home.

The pitcher is coming off his best performance of the season with 7.0 blank acts that were key to achieving his third victory of the season.

On this occasion, the Zuliano will launch at home a site where he has been intractable in eight starts in which he has a 1.86 ERA. However, he has won on one occasion due to the low offensive support he has received from his teammates.

In front are the Nationals, a team that has fallen to the Venezuelan dose in two of their last three clashes between 2020 and 2021. In that stretch, the Creole shotgun registered 17.1 episodes in which he slugger five races, two of them clean.

Washington has become one of the hottest teams of the moment with a record of (9W-1P) in their last 10 games; even so, the yoke that the law has imposed in Miami will be difficult to overcome.

López in seven of eight starts at home has allowed two or fewer runs and on five occasions he has thrown quality starts on that same stage, his best personal best of 2021.

On the other hand, there is comfort against right-handed hitters who have suffered to produce against the Creole. In 161 plate appearances against Lopez, the right-handers have 31 hits and a .214 batting average.

If he won, it would be seventeenth in the Major Leagues and in turn, it would be the first time since last year that he had won in a row.
