Just over a year ago, the CAI Santiago Sports Club received a proposal from the Utrillo Association for an inclusive tournament. The Club Board did not hesitate for a single moment to collaborate with such an exciting project. The event consisted of an inclusive championship where competitions of different sports disciplines (soccer, basketball, table tennis…) were held throughout a morning, with great success of participation. The day brought together more than a hundred athletes from different entities and schools, promoting inclusion and enjoying a very enriching day in all aspects. Thanks to this initiative, the Santiago Sports Club of the CAI Foundation signed a collaboration agreement with the Utrillo Association, which aims to integrate people with intellectual disabilities.

Considering physical activity and sport as an essential requirement in the development of its members, and in order to achieve full inclusion, the Utrillo Association, daily, makes use of the facilities of the CAI Santiago Sports Club in order to carry out different sports, encourage physical and mental activity, and improve health. The Club, every day, welcomes a group of 8 people from the association who carry out different sports activities: badminton, maintenance and sports gymnastics, football, table tennis, basketball, tennis, football, athletics. In summer they enjoy the pool and water activities, being able to combine sport and inclusion all year round.

Likewise, to facilitate family conciliation, the Santiago Club presents, once again, urban neighborhoods for children and young people from June 21 until one day before the start of the next school year. Specifically, the Summer 2021 Campus, organized by the Zaragoza-SEI Escuela Rhythmic Gymnastics School Club, offers a wide variety of recreational-sports activities (multisport, paddle tennis, tennis …) so that the little ones can enjoy the outdoors and in an environment insurance. Also, this year, English Summer Camp has been scheduled, a training initiative for 100% linguistic immersion in English, without leaving the city, through fun creative activities. This campus is organized by Formación Avanza. For more information, rates and registration: www.cdsantiago.com.

Since its inception, in 1987, the Santiago Club has aimed to facilitate sports practice to promote social well-being, encourage friendship and instill values where self-discipline, responsibility and companionship are enhanced.

The Club wants to highlight that all activities are carried out in strict compliance with the safety and hygiene measures established by the health authorities and that the facilities are adapted for people with reduced mobility.
