Canada to be represented by Stephanie Barrett and Crispin Duenas in archery at the Olympics

TORONTO – Canada will be represented by Stephanie Barrett and Crispin Duenas in archery at the Tokyo Olympics.

Barrett of Mississauga qualified for her first Olympics after placing second in the Americas Olympic qualifier in March 2021 in Monterrey, Mexico.

Barrett, who began archery in 2016, competed at the Pan American Games in Lima, Peru, in 2019, where she placed fourth in the mixed team event and 17th in the individual test.

Barrett will be accompanied to Japan by Olympian Duenas, who will be making his fourth Olympic Games after those in Beijing in 2008, London in 2012 and Rio de Janeiro in 2016.

Duenas has been on the national team for 17 years. In Lima in 2019, he won gold in the men’s recurve event.

The archery events will be presented from July 23 to 31 at Yumenoshima Park.
