Despite the clear distribution of roles before the start of the two games, athletics coach Nici Weichert does not expect a walk in the cathedral city of Baden-Württemberg. Reason: The traditionally tense personnel situation at Mainz this season has worsened again. “Yannic Wildenhain is now completely out, Kevin Kotowski, Ben Briggs, Peter Johannessen and probably also Timmy Kotwoski are missing. That could be very tight, especially in terms of pitching, ”explains Weichert.
