The WGC Workday Championship kicks off today

The first of the four tournaments WGC (World Golf Championship) was programmed like the previous editions to be played in the field of Chapultepec, in Mexico. However, due to the pandemic and health concerns, the PGA Tour and organizers were forced to move the last minute event to the Concessions Golf Club in Florida in what is now the WGC Workday Championship.

This world-class event has only the 50 best players in the ranking, plus invitations, to complete one of the most outstanding fields of the year in which both Abraham Ancer and Carlos Ortiz won their place for being within the Top-50 of the world and They will see action alongside the best in an exclusive event which, due to its reduced field, does not have a cut-off and gives participants a good opportunity to collect a large amount of both points in the world ranking and dollars.

The Guadalajara Carlos Ortiz will see action during the first two days with the former world number one, Justin Rose, y Patrick Cantlay, while “The Turk” will do it with Kevin Kisner Y Tommy Fleetwood. In addition to the Mexicans, this year two more Latinos will participate, the Colombian Sebastián Muñoz and the Chilean Joaquin Niemann.

On the other hand, almost a month after the first event of the year, the LPGA returns to activity on the East Coast for the Gainbridge LPGA, which will see the debut of María Fassi from Hidalgo this season and the return of Gaby López from the capital. .
