Ramonville-Saint-Agne. Ramonville: leisure badminton at Léo-Lagrange

The Ramonville Saint-Agne badminton club is organizing its first APMs: these are leisure sporting events. The first day will take place tomorrow Saturday September 12 at the Léo-Lagrange gymnasium in Ramonville from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. A team must be made up of 2 people. Each will play a minimum of 5 matches.

The Badminton section of Union Sportive de Ramonville (USRB) has existed since 1978. It is one of the flagship clubs in the region and one of the most important in terms of the number of licensees. Since 1992, badminton has been an Olympic sport which is divided into 5 disciplines: men’s singles, ladies ‘singles, men’s doubles, ladies’ doubles and mixed doubles. At a high level, it requires excellent physical condition as well as very good technical and tactical skills.

Historically, badminton has many ancestors. The exchange of struck shuttlecocks with a body part or an instrument dates back more than two millennia in China. As for the current badminton rules, they were developed in 1873 by English officers returned from India, meeting in the castle of the Duke of Beaufort in Badminton (English town of Gloucestershire).
