“This is not a bubble, this is a joke.” The star was surprised by the conditions at the world championships

Norwegian handball star Sander Sagosen has sharply criticized the coronavirus measures and their adherence to the World Cup in Egypt.

According to the 25-year-old charge of coach Filip Jícha from Kiel, Germany, the secure bubble for teams does not work at all.

“I don’t even know if it can be called a bubble. So far, everything has been a joke,” said Sagosen, who celebrated his Champions League triumph at the end of December.

In the first hours after arriving in Giza, he allegedly felt like in the Wild West and the whole team is a bit shocked by the conditions.

Sagosen was one of the handball players who would rather cancel the entire championship in the current situation. Along with other players, he strongly criticized the planned participation of fans in the auditorium. The organizers withdrew only on Monday after the captains of 14 teams sent a protest letter to the leadership of the International Federation of IHF.

Even the conditions at Sagosen’s place did not convince them that the organization was safe. According to him, in the hotel of the Norwegian national team, where the German team is also accommodated, strangers move freely without veils. Teams do not have the opportunity to eat separately and other pre-agreed measures are not followed.
