The Technical Commission of the Ecuadorian Basketball Federation (FEB), made up of Otilio Valencia, Andrés Buitrón and Juan Sánchez, resolved that the second match of the final of the Women’s Basketball League continue this Saturday, at 18:00, in a coliseum to be defined, of Guayaquil; and if the series is tied, the defining match will take place on Sunday, on the same stage.

Audaz Octubrino, from El Oro, and the Victoria Cogarol team, from Pichincha, reached the final stages of the tournament and must define the winner of the tournament in three games.

In the first game, played in Machala, the Orense team won 65-50; and when they marked 42 seconds of the second quarter, of the second game, in Quito, and the Audaz Octubrino team was ahead on the scoreboard 11-12, the National Police entered the stage, the Julio César Hidalgo coliseum, and did not allow it to continue the commitment when verifying that there were a considerable number of fans in the stands, something that was prohibited by the cantonal COE.

With the fait accompli, yesterday the Technical Commission met and resolved that the game continue in one of the coliseums that exist in Guayaquil (Abel Jiménez Parra or Voltaire Paladines Polo) with the score 11-12 in favor of Audaz Octubrino and with 9 minutes and 18 seconds to play.

In another part of the resolution the number of members for each club is restricted. Now there will be twelve players, a coach, a technical assistant, a doctor, a physiotherapist and two delegates.

In the final part, it was resolved that the Quito club must assume the costs of mobilization, lodging and food for the orense team, as well as the referees and assistants of the commitment.

Andrés Solano, president of the Victoria Cogarol club, in statements to radio The net, from Quito, he indicated: “First we will ask for clarification and if our appeal is not approved, we are not willing to continue with these decisions and we would not travel to Guayaquil.”

The manager added: “Before the game starts, in Quito, the Audaz Octubrino leadership had the intention of not playing the game. We will appeal the decision to play in Guayaquil, we have presented the option to play in Sangolquí. We won the right to play at home. “

For its part, the Audaz Octubrino team, before the resolution was known, published a video in which it requests sanction for the capital team because, according to them, it did not comply with the rules established by the cantonal COE, for which they demanded respect for a traditional team from El Oro.
