In the south of the province, stones the size of a golf ball fell

“It was a great surprise,” said those who were surprised last night by how a strong hailstorm occurred in part of Concepción and in other areas of the south of the province. Although the rain has not yet reached the Capital, the probabilities increase with the passing of the hours, since in Tucumán there is a yellow alert for possible storms of great intensity.

According to the readers who sent the images to our newspaper, during the early morning -in the Perla del Sur- it rained and it was then that stones the size of an egg or a golf ball began to fall. In other towns such as San Ramón, León Rouges and Villa Quinteros, hail preceded the rain.

According to the National Meteorological Service for today there is up to a 70% chance that it could rain. “The province can be affected by storms, which can be of low intensity and be accompanied by strong gusts, occasional hail falls, significant electrical activity and especially abundant water fall in short periods,” says the SMN alert.

The maximum for today, according to the agency, will be 32 °, while the minimum was 23 °. Different organisms in the province reiterated the need for extreme precautions.

The affected areas would be: Burruyacú – Capital – Cruz Alta – Famaillá – Graneros – La Cocha – Leales – Simoca – Trancas – Yerba Buena – Low areas of Chicligasta – Low areas of Juan Bautista Alberdi – Low areas of Lules – Low areas of Monteros – Lower areas of Río Chico – Lower areas of Tafí Viejo

Read here what you have to do if the storm catches you outside the home:
