Success at National Judo Qualifications: Who Qualified for Finals?

On Sunday 28 April in Castelmaggiore, in the province of Bologna, the qualifications valid for the national Judo Beginners B finals took place, which saw the excellent placings of Francesco Visani (2nd place), Martina Conficconi (2nd place) and Davide Tufariello (3rd place), followed by the technicians Marzucco and Tufariello. The three judokas, who join Kevin Canale, qualified by right, will fight in Olbia for a national medal.

Also present were Amos Montanari, Marcel Flamigni, Gabriel Gandolfi, Agata Bertazzini and Lauren Allushaj, who, despite their excellent performances, did not qualify for the finals.

Qualifying for the Italian A2 championships also took place on the same day, a competition in which only black belts can participate. In the category up to 66kg Michele Fabbri ranks third and qualifies for the finals which will take place in Perugia on May 11th.

At the same time, the Valbrenta trophy took place in the province of Vicenza, a race reserved for the junior category and valid for the acquisition of points for the achievement of the black belt.

Followed by Andrea Guadagnini, the eighteen-year-old Erik Sangiorgi, winning the 81 kg category, as well as first place, wins the points necessary to wear the coveted black belt. Good performance also by Asia Gianese second in the 70kg, Michela Cicchetti and Simone Rustignoli.
