Eusebio evolves without complications of the operation

Former footballer and coach Eusebio Sacristán remains stable and in an induced coma in the Intensive Care Unit of the Hospital Clínic de Valladolid. The Girona coach underwent surgery on Thursday for a clot after a blow to the head as a result of a fortuitous fall that has resulted in “no complications”.

The control tests carried out yesterday confirmed that “everything is still within the desired evolution, without the appearance of complications after the surgery on December 31,” according to the Eusebio Sacristán Foundation in a statement. The former player was admitted to the University Clinical Hospital on Wednesday, December 30, after suffering a severe cranioencephalic trauma that same day, the result of a fortuitous fall when he was in a bar accompanied by more people.

After his admission, a clot was detected and on Thursday he underwent surgery, mainly as a “precaution”. The former footballer, 56 years old and a native of the town of La Seca, played for Valladolid, Atlético, FC Barcelona, ​​Celta and the Spanish national team. He was European Under-21 champion with the selection and European Cup champion with FC Barcelona.
