The Gießen 46ers left the road to success after two wins in a row on Saturday. Central Hesse suffered a 90-92 defeat against Göttingen. The 46ers were only just behind at the break. In the third quarter, however, the guests from Lower Saxony got serious again in the Gießen Osthalle.

Gießen’s chase in the final quarter was no longer enough to turn the game around again. So the guests of the 46ers, who had recently shown themselves to be much better, spoiled the start of the new year. The team of coach Rolf Scholz is still on the penultimate place in the table. Aubray Dawkins was the best Giessener on the field – he made 18 points.

Skyliners win in Weißenfels

Things went better for the Skyliners Frankfurt against the Central German BC. They won in Weißenfels with 94:89. For the Frankfurters it was the desired reparation after the defeat in the Hessenderby against the 46ers shortly before the turn of the year.

How much the Skyliners had planned after the bitter bankruptcy, it became clear in the first quarter that they won. The two following quarters went to the hosts. However, it was only billed after the last quarter, which was strong from the point of view of Hessen. For the Frankfurters, the win is a tailor-made start to the year. The best thrower at the Skyliners was Matt Mobley with 29 points.
