Badminton Oviedo closes the first round as an undefeated leader

During the entire month of February there will be no competition in the Badminton Top-8 Division of Honor. This has been decided by the Spanish Federation due to the evolution of the pandemic.

Therefore, the first four days of the second round of the competition are postponed. Badminton Oviedo will therefore not play its duels against Arjonilla, Pontevedra, Rinconada and San Fernando on the scheduled dates.

The Carbayón team faces this break in an enviable situation. Those of César González are currently the solid leader of the maximum category after closing the first round with full triumphs. The last one, last weekend, at the Corredoria Arena against Arjonilla (5-2), in a crash postponed in its day due to the coronavirus.

After the victory, the CBO player was very happy with the performance she had offered. «I have played the individual, which is also not my modality, and I have managed to get it out quite well. It was very tight, but very happy, “he explained.

The young woman also celebrated the good progress of the team: “We managed to come out undefeated in the first round of the Division of Honor league.”

For his part, César González, coach of the Asturian team, was “satisfied to finish the first round as undefeated leaders.” “That gives us a lot of confidence to face the second round with all the objectives intact,” he added. And it is that with this triumph against the current third-placed, Badminton Oviedo has presented, one more year, its candidacy to be able to fight for its second league title.
