Schröder would have no problem with space on the bench

Los Angeles (AP) – Dennis Schröder wants to serve the team whenever possible with the Los Angeles Lakers. The national basketball player emphasized this after the second full day of training with his new team on Monday (local time).

“I try to help my team-mates. Whatever is needed – whether I have to slide on the floor, get a rebound or steal the ball. Whatever is necessary. Also sit on the bench,” said the 27-year-old, who is in the Came as part of a barter from Oklahoma City.

Schröder is particularly looking forward to playing with NBA superstar LeBron James and Anthony Davis at the defending champion. “With LeBron and Anthony Davis on the field? We can march up and down. The Lakers did well last year, but I think I can help with my speed,” said Schröder. James has already made an impression on him. “To be around him, his presence, also how he lets himself be treated – he is a great role model for everyone here. He’s been doing it on the biggest stage for 18 years and doesn’t let it slow down.”
