Brazilian De Sousa Evandru Dias was the top scorer with 10 points.
“We worked well in the pre-Christmas week in training, and Avo shook up after the unsuccessful weekend of the previous week. We went on the field with a different attitude and motivation,” commented Atvars Ozoliņš, the striker of the second pace of the Latvian national team.
“Before the game, the task was to play light balls accurately, act purposefully on the field and wait for the mistakes of the opponents. They also made mistakes, but we also forced them to lose,” Ozoliņš said about the implementation of the game plan.
It was in December that his performance made a hole after the summer preparations and games in the Latvian national team, but today Atvars was already feeling well. “After such a performance, it could be said that the pit is over, but I would like to hope that the pit is not over yet,” joked the volleyball player. “The game came together and the builder entrusted the attacks to me. The other Latvians also played well, we felt the rhythm of the game and acted with confidence. We won as a team.”
