Quincy Promes, arrested in a stabbing case

As reported The Telegraph and referring to police sources, Quincy Promes, a Ajax footballer, was arrested Sunday morning on suspicion of being involved in a stabbing.

The event occurred at the end of last July in Abcoude, a city south of the outskirts of Amsterdam, and the victim would be a relative. During a party he had a strong argument with a relative and the player attacked him with a knife. The victim was reportedly seriously injured with, in others, very serious knee injuries.

The fact was reported a month ago: “When we learned of the incident we started an investigation that led to the arrest this morning.”says Jelmer Geerds, a police spokesman, ruling out any possibility that the investigation had been delayed from July until now due to his status as a footballer.

The ex of Sevilla, after being arrested, remains in the dungeon and could only be there a maximum of three days, although it is not extendable. This crime could carry up to four years in prison.
