Borussia Dortmund said on Thursday that they had authorized their striker Erling Haaland to receive treatment in Qatar, despite the coronavirus pandemic. Victim of a muscle tear in his hip, the young Norwegian (20 years old) will be absent until January.

“It was his wish to follow care there”, Ruhr club sporting director Michael Zorc explained when Haaland was already there. The player is “Surrounded by experts who are in close contact with our medical department. This is why we have acceded to wonders ”, Zorc added.

The manager justified the club’s decision by indicating that he expected the player to “Adheres to the applicable hygiene measures and returns to Germany before Christmas”. Faced with a worrying resurgence of the virus, Chancellor Angela Merkel called on Wednesday before MPs for further restrictions. Haaland has scored 17 goals this season in the Bundesliga, including 6 in the Champions League.
