WTA Linz: Mertens meets doubles partner in the final

By reaching the final, Aryna Sabalenka pushed past Serena Williams and returned to the top ten in the world rankings.

In doubles, Elise Mertens and Aryna Sabalenka won the WTA tournament in Ostrava, Czech Republic at the end of October. At the US Open, the Belgian-Belarusian duo made it to the quarter-finals, but failed there because of the eventual tournament winners Laura Siegemund / Vera Zvonareva.

The WTA tournament in Linz is endowed with a total of 225,500 US dollars. After the final on Sunday (live on Eurosport 2) the winner will receive 25,000 US dollars (20,161 euros). The tournament is the last WTA event this year.
