Twenty-four hours after leaving the leader’s chair in Oyonnax, Vannes recovered his good by going to win in pain in Biarritz 16-14, Saturday during the 9th day of Pro D2. After the postponements of their trips to Oyonnax and Aurillac as well as the reception of Colomiers, the Biarrots had not played since October 11 against Carcassonne (37-10 victory). This defeat to Aguilera for their return to competition marred the good start to the season for the Basque club, which had started with four wins in five matches.
Biarritz could have secured a better result at the very end of the match, but Ilian Perraux missed the transformation of his own try (78th), and the efforts of his teammates were unsuccessful. Biarritz is thus dispossessed of its 4th place by Provence Rugby, 19-16 winner of Aurillac earlier this Saturday, in a match where the 19 points of Florent Massip, author of the only test and all the points at the foot of his team, answered the 16 points of Thomas Vincent, Aurillac’s only point scorer.
