News blog about the US election: Trump fails with lawsuit against counting in Michigan – politics

Evangelical preacher prays for Trump: “I hear the sound of victory”

While the US states are still being counted, social networks are concerned Recordings of Trump-affiliated evangelical preacher Paula White-Cain for great amusement. In a sermon she prays urgently for Trump to win the presidential election. White-Cain ecstatically repeats some passages over and over again, for example: “I hear the sound of victory” or “The Lord says it is done”.

White is a confidante of Trump. The ultra-conservative preacher gave a speech at his inauguration in January 2017. Evangelical Christians are a major constituency for Trump. The video, which has been shared many times, shows a short excerpt from a two-and-a-half hour service by the “City of Destiny” church in Apopka, Florida. In it, White-Cain speaks of electoral fraud, miscalculations and people who tried to hijack the election. “We unleash the power and authority of the Lord against any demon who has encountered this choice,” she preaches. Trump had repeatedly questioned the legitimacy of the election. The service took place on Wednesday evening (local time).

A man who walks back and forth on stage with a towel behind White-Cain also causes astonishment – and amusement – on social media. It is White-Cain’s son Bradley Knight, who preached to her. (dpa)
