NBA: Bryant to be inducted into the Hall of Fame in May

Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett will finally be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in May 2021.

The NBA reported on Saturday that the delayed weekend in which the new members of the campus will enter will span from May 13 to 15. The ceremonies were originally scheduled for August in Springfield, Massachusetts, but were suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Bryant, Duncan and Garnett have a combined 48 All-Star selections and 11 NBA championships. They lead the generation that was revealed in April.

All were inducted into the Hall of Fame in the first year they were eligible, as was Tamika Catchings of the WNBA women’s league.

Others had to wait a little longer to be elected. Rudy Tomjanovic, a two-time NBA champion as a coach, finally made it, as did Kim Mulkey, the Baylor coach; Barbara Stevens, a 1,000-game winner with Bentley, and Eddie Sutton, a coach who made the Final Four three times.

Bryant died on January 26, in a helicopter crash, along with his daughter Gianna and seven other people. Sutton died on May 23.

This generation of new members also includes Patrick Baumann, former FIBA ​​secretary general, elected by the international committee. Baumann passed away in October 2018.
