Lazio, buffer free all but the yellow remains

An increasingly thick mystery in Formello: the buffer issue at Lazio is becoming a real yellow. All still negative (except for two staff members who left for Russia, one of the two would be the ds Tare) at the molecular test performed yesterday by Futura Diagnostica of Avellino. In fact, these new tests “belie” those of Uefa carried out on Monday. And not only that, because yesterday morning, in great secrecy, President Lotito, in order to get a further opinion, had rapid swabs performed at the Bio-Medico Campus for those cases defined as “borderline”, including Immobile, Leiva and Strakosha. From these tests, however, three positivity emerged promptly communicated to the ASL. “Usually – emphasizes the Roman laboratory – in the event of a positive rapid test we also do a molecular”. Still discrepancy of results, as happened between those of Uefa and those of the Campania studio, which had always given the green light to the three players last Saturday to take the field the next day in Turin. Lazio says it is certain not to pay any price (the molecular pad has greater value than the antigenic one) and therefore cannot incur any penalty (despite the Cairo complaint) for the last championship match.
DISPARITY
Everything could revolve around the famous N gene which according to the medical director Pulcini is not specific for Covid and therefore if the positivity is very low and only that gene is possible it is a question of false positivity. Not according to other laboratories, see SynLab and Campus Bio-Medico for which it indicates positivity. The “cut-off” (the number of cycles required to confirm negativity) has been avoided: all three laboratories are calibrated around 43, in line with national standards. The spotlight has now also shifted to how samples are taken. In light of yet another puzzle: who will be able to take the field tomorrow against Juve? All according to Lazio which has in hand the swabs made by the laboratory chosen in May and indicated to the League. Some doubts remain. To dispel them (Fares’ position also dances) will take care of today’s training (also new tests planned). Without a shadow of a doubt, Luis Alberto will see himself on the field again: what was confirmed Thursday by the private serological test. «Yay – the Spaniard exulted on Twitch – I just learned that I am also negative for Lazio’s buffer. I will be there on Sunday with Juve ». Yesterday morning, as a precaution, Immobile, Leiva, Strakosha Lazzari, Djavan Anderson, Vavro and Escalante were left in storage.
THE PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE AND THE ASL QUESTION
The Prosecutor has directed the investigation into the possible violation of the protocol. Because, after the positivity found by Uefa, on Tuesday Lazio had decided to send them on the field: instead of being immediately isolated, even if among the reserves, Immobile, Leiva and Strakosha had played the match as a group. After the Hoedt and Pereira cases, before Borussia and Bruges, the Capitoline club thought they were again “false positives” able to leave, after the second negative test, for St. Petersburg. This was not the case. Lazio is convinced that it acted in good faith, the president now speaks openly of a “conspiracy”. In fact, the club did not communicate anything to ASL Roma one because, according to their own buffers, there was no positive. And this is also being examined by the prosecutor who wants to see clearly. The prosecutor Chiné has decided in recent days to seal the documents. Yesterday the Biancoceleste medical manager, Ivo Pulcini did not appear in the prosecutor’s office. The communication was sent Thursday via pec as a person informed on the facts. No reply. “Nothing came to me,” reiterates the doctor we consulted. In the meantime, from via Po they have already scheduled a new call for the next few days. If he doesn’t show up this time either, he risks being referred. The inspectors had already talked to Dr. Pulcini (yesterday long meeting with the lawyer Gentile and the president Lotito) for more than three hours in his office (not in Formello) on 28 October last. But there is more because the 007 of the FIGC have already asked for the results of the swabs made yesterday (only some players) at the Biomedical Campus. Also under the lens the laboratory run by Massimiliano Taccone, son of Walter, former president of Avellino, to whom Lazio relies. The prosecutor Chiné in fact asked for scientific opinions on the swabs carried out on Monday. In particular, it is the positivity to the N gene that has created the disparity of results. Or rather the singular alternation: positive on 27 October, negative on Friday, again some positive on Monday. Yesterday all negative again.
