NRL star Jack de Belin repeatedly raped a tearful teenager before asking his victim why she was “so emotional,” a jury heard.
“It wasn’t bad, it was good,” the 29-year-old reportedly said to the woman as she cried in the bathroom of a unit in North Wollongong in December 2018.
The St. George Illawarra player and friend Callan Sinclair, 23, both pleaded not guilty for sexually assaulting them at a nightclub in Wollongong by the 19-year-old.
Outlining the crown case on Tuesday, Attorney David Scully said the woman went to the unit in the early hours of December 9 to understand the men need to charge their phones before hitting another club.

When she was using a private toilet, de Belin came in naked and started showering, the Wollongong District Court jury said.
Mr. Scully said the woman left the room quickly, saw Sinclair dressed on the bed, and felt de Belin undo her top.
The woman pushed onto the bed is expected to tell the jury that she has tried to cover her breasts while the men said words that show, “Show us your tits”.
“The complainant said she wanted to go home,” said Mr Scully.
The woman is expected to tell the jury that the rugby star has spread her legs, put his hand around her neck, put his forearm on her chest and started intercourse.
Mr. Scully said the woman was crying and feeling “numb”.
“When the Crown fell, calls to stop and attempts to resist fell on deaf ears, and at one point she felt unable to resist,” he said.
De Belin turned to Sinclair and said, “Come on, try it out” and made way for his co-defendant.

De Belin verbally raped the woman and traded positions with Sinclair several times.
When Sinclair failed trying to have anal sex, he went and went to the bathroom.
While Sinclair was away, de Belin moved the woman to an ottoman and resumed sexual intercourse between the penis and vagina.
“Tears ran down the applicant’s cheeks,” said Mr. Scully.
When de Belin ejaculated on her back, the woman took the shower, kept crying, and said she didn’t want to have sex.
In response, Mr. Sinclair said nothing, while Mr. de Belin said, “Why are you so emotional? It wasn’t bad. It was good, ”she should tell the jury.
Mr Scully said the footballer said to the woman, “You can shut up, can’t you?” She replied “yes”.
The trio caught an Uber back in Wollongong’s nightlife district, and de Belin gave the woman $ 50 for the Uber and to shut up.
Mr Scully said the woman told friends, family and work colleagues what happened before making a formal police statement and consenting to a medical examination.
The woman’s DNA was later found in the unit of which de Belin’s normal resident was de Belin’s cousin.
Calls to and from the phones of the accused men, recorded shortly after the alleged rape, are expected to be played during the week-long trial.
“The phone calls made them accept that sexual activity occurred, but they say it was consensual,” Scully said.
De Belin and Sinclair are both charged with five serious sexual assaults, the worsening allegedly being that the couple acted in company.
The first count is also reportedly exacerbated by the fact that de Belin actually caused assault and caused easy bruising on the woman’s neck and chest.
Both defense cases are expected to open later on Tuesday.
It is expected that the complainant will be the first witness to be called in the case of the Kronfall.
