Derby County says goodbye to Cocu after dramatic 6 in 33 | football England

Derby County is underperforming in the Championship this season. Only one of the 11 league matches was won. The club dangles at the very bottom of the stand and then the trainer is looked at. Cocu, who narrowly missed the play-offs for promotion with the club last year, has to leave together with his assistants.

The club lost his last match against Barnsley last week, but Cocu himself was no longer there. He was in corona quarantine.

For Cocu, Derby County was his second foreign club after his period with PSV, with which he became national champion three times. In 2018 he was already briefly trainer at the Turkish top club Fenerbahçe.

There is no official successor yet, but for now, Wayne Rooney, among others, is taking over. He is still a Derby County player himself, but could also become an official trainer in the long run.
