Arizona dynamite Kyler Murray

The pioneers of the Far West would have liked to take Kyler Murray in their suitcase, the search for gold would have been simplified! A real dynamite on the field, the supersonic quarterback of the Cardinals is at 23 a young man who is on the rise in the NFL. Sophomore, the nugget of Arizona confirms this season the immense qualities seen during his rookie year on the side of Glendale. With for the moment five victories on the clock, the Cards are already showing as much success as last year (5v – 10d – 1n) and naturally aim to invite themselves to the Playoffs. It would be a first for them since 2015.

In the wake of the Seahawks (6v – 2d), Arizona (5v – 3d) is currently floating in an ultra-dense NFC West division ahead of the Rams (5v – 3d) and 49ers (4v – 5d) and this owes a lot to the talent of Kyler Murray. Carried by fiery legs, the number 1 of the 2019 draft is a genius of improvisation ball in hand from the height of his 1m78 (for 93 kilos!). A small size that he uses to his advantage to escape pressure and enemy defenses. This does not fail to open endless possibilities for his attack and his coaching staff.

A permanent double threat

With 8 touchdowns in the race, Murray competes with the best running backs in the League in this area as only Dalvin Cook and Todd Gurley have registered more TDs than him. To compare it to a player of the same position, and not just any, the reigning MVP Lamar Jackson produced on this campaign less yards on the ground (469) than the QB of the Cardinals (543). What about the pass then? The situation is for the moment a little more mixed since if it throws better and better, the one which was born in Bedford (Texas) is still too intercepted to be exempt from any reproach. A sin of gluttony due to his age? Certainly.

For a month and week 4, Kyler Murray has in any case increased his level of play with 12 touchdowns for 2 interceptions, including a phenomenal game against Seattle and Russell Wilson. After a week of rest, the pocket quarterback put back the small dishes in the big ones against the Dolphins in a mano a mano with Tua Tagovailoa: 3 TD (0 INT), 283 yards to the pass, 106 to the race (1 TD ). A very well-stocked stats sheet that did not prevent the Cardinals’ setback against Miami. A defeat that makes the reception of the Bills on Sunday all the more important in order to obtain a wildcard. With the Playoffs more in mind than ever, Arizona and Kyler Murray have a pretty NFC scarecrow face.
