A transfer at the inflated price in a transaction including Arthur, who did the opposite for the tidy sum of 82 million euros. Still, the investment remains significant for a player who most certainly claimed better for his debut in Catalonia.

And for good reason, the Bosnian milieu has played relatively little since his arrival. While he could have obtained a major role with the combined departures of his Brazilian counterpart, Ivan Rakitic and Arturo Vidal, the former Olympique Lyonnais player is forced to chew on his brakes. Proof of this is that he is only the 15th player most used by Ronald Koeman with 301 minutes of play. Exceptional defenders, only Francisco Trincao (233) and Martin Braithwaite (37) have played less. It is inevitably little, too little for a player of his caliber.
Even more surprisingly, the Dutch coach seems to rely on his receding playmaker only in the Champions League. Indeed, Pjanic has held three times, all three times in C1. Each time, Barcelona have won, including the very good collective performance against Juventus (2-0).
