Chelsea make a decision on Barkley’s future

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard reportedly sees Aston Villa loanee Ross Barkley in his plans after the England international’s good start at Villa Park.

Barkley is spending the 2020-21 season at Villa Park on loan after his chances of regaining a first-team spot at Stamford Bridge dwindled after Chelsea’s summer transfer activity.

Lampard spent £ 90m on attacking midfielder Kai Havertz and also brought in winger Timo Werner from RB Leipzig.

That left Barkley on the sidelines and a move to Villa followed, where it has become an instant hit.

Barkley has scored and assisted twice in five games, which ties in well with Douglas Luiz and John McGinn in midfield.

He’s also close friends with villa skipper Jack Grealish, with the chemistry building on the field.

TV details confirmed for Villa v Brighton and West Ham clashes

Aston Villa has picked one more game in the Premier League for live TV coverage – but fans will no longer have to pay extra to watch games after the controversial pay-per-view streaming service was discontinued.

The top players have released ‘additional’ TV selections for November and the post-international break between Villa and Brighton and Hove Albion will now be broadcast live on BT Sport.

However, both the date and kick-off time will remain the same as the game is still scheduled for Saturday, November 21st at 3pm.

Previously it would have cost backers £ 14.95 to watch, but the PPV system, which was introduced just last month, has been scrapped after widespread criticism.

Instead, all Premier League games will be shown through the existing services of Sky Sports, BT Sport, Amazon and BBC until the New Year.

He has ousted Frederic Guilbert as Villa right-back and has started every game this season with just 33 minutes of Premier League football missed.
