The NFL has not decided on the violent action of linebacker Jon Bostic

New York, Oct 26 (EFE) .- The National Football League (NFL) has not yet released its position on the violent play that linebacker Jon Bostic, of the Washington Football Team, starred this Sunday and that cost him a concussion to Dallas Cowboys quarterback Andy Dalton.

Although it is expected that Bostin will not receive a suspension, as there was no intention, within the league there has been a rejection of such actions, of going to block the rival with a helmet clash.

Bostic’s unsportsmanlike action, which was not condemned by his teammates, did receive criticism from the team’s head coach, Puerto Rican Ron Rivera, who personally, at the end of the game, addressed the Cowboys technical manager, Mike McCarthy , and apologized to him, in addition to telling him that this was not the style of play he wanted for his team.

Bostic was expelled from the game in the third period, but without affecting the final result, which was favorable to Washington 25-3.

Dalton, who was making his second start in place of all-star Dak Prescott, out for the remainder of the season, was hit by Bostic after slipping down the field with 6:22 left in the third period.

According to a Cowboys spokesperson, Dalton is recovering positively from his concussion.

However, McCarthy insisted that the behavior of Washington players with the way they reacted to Bostic’s action had not been the most constructive or positive in the NFL, where players claim so much for defending all kinds of rights.

“We always talk about playing for everyone, protecting each other,” McCarthy said. “It was definitely not the answer I expected.”

For his part, Rivera acknowledged on Monday on ProFootballTak.com that he was apologizing to McCarthy for Bostic’s hit.

“I went up to him and apologized for it. I wanted him to know that we don’t play that way, and it’s unfortunate that it happened.”

Before leaving the game, the 32-year-old Dalton had completed 9 of 19 attempts for 75 yards with an interception and had been sacked three times.

The game was finished by rookie Ben DiNucci, selected No. 231, who completed two of three passes for 39 yards and was also sacked three times.
