Solskjaer: ‘Van de Beek is fantastic and will really make his minutes’ | NOW

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has assured that Donny van de Beek’s future looks good at Manchester United, even though the midfielder who has come over from Ajax has to make do with a spare role for the time being.

Van de Beek sat on the bench against Newcastle United (4-1 win) on Saturday for the fourth Premier League game in a row, although he fell in the final phase, just like during the previous three league matches.

“He’s really going to make his minutes. He’s fantastic. He’s so good in possession, you can see that in practice and again today. I don’t think he lost the ball once”, Solskjaer said after the win at Newcastle.

The Norwegian manager looks at several factors when determining his position. “It’s about finding the balance in the team. Donny will still be important for this team.”

Van de Beek and United have started the Premier League season with varying results. They won against Brighton & Hove Albion (2-3) and Newcastle and lost to Crystal Palace (1-3) and Tottenham Hotspur (1-6).

‘The Red Devils’ face a tough program, because competition matches with Chelsea, Arsenal and Everton are now waiting, while in the meantime the Champions League will play against Paris Saint-Germain, RB Leipzig and Istanbul Basaksehir.
