Prior to Arsenal, Thomas Partey was also targeted by Juventus and Chelsea

Jakarta

Arsenal are not the only club eyeing Thomas Partey in the transfer market last summer. Juventus and Chelsea also seem to have targeted Partey.

Partey joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in the transfer market last summer. The Gunners redeem the Ghanaian midfielder’s buyout clause worth 50 million euros.

Arsenal completed Partey’s transfer in the final seconds of the summer transfer window. London Cannon has been eyeing the 27-year-old player for months.

Partey’s father, Jacob Partey, revealed that Arsenal are not the only big club that wants his son. Partey is also of interest to Juventus and Chelsea.

“We weren’t really bothered by anything because we hoped a bigger team would come,” Partey’s father, Jacob, told MyJoyOnline as reported Football Italia.

“We realized (other teams’ interests): Juventus, Chelsea and so on. So through all this we know God is with us. From that minute we started dancing ‘Party to Party'” “

Jacob did not deny that Partey had doubts about Arsenal because the North London club did not qualify for the Champions League. However, Jacob managed to convince Partey to take up the challenge of bringing Arsenal back to the highest European club competition.

“Thomas wants to play where there is the Champions League, but (I suggest him if) can’t he be where there is no Champions League and help them qualify for the Champions League?” said Jacob.
