Novak Djokovic, the one who beat Nadal the most in powder

The Roland Garros final will be between No. 1 and No. 2 in the world: Novak Djokovic against Rafael Nadal. The Spaniard, top winner of the Parisian tournament and rarely beaten in dust, will have to face his most difficult opponent on the surface.

While the record in brick dust is widely favorable to Manacor (17 victories), Djokovic managed to defeat him seven times, more than anyone else.

Djokovic’s first triumph against Nadal on brick dust was in 2011. There he managed to beat Rafa in two finals: Madrid and Rome. Two years later, in the definition of Monte Carlo, it would be the third victory of the Serbian in dust.

The 2014 Rome final and the 2015 Monte Carlo semi-final were the prerequisite to Djokovic’s most important triumph over Nadal in brick dust: the 2015 Roland Garros quarter-finals, where the Serbian prevailed 7-5, 6-3 and 6-1.

Nadal’s last defeat to Djokovic in brick dust dates back to the quarter-finals in Rome in 2016. Since then, there have been three Fiera victories: Madrid 2017, Rome 2018 and Rome 2019.
