Coach Hansi Flick from triple winner Bayern Munich has urged youngster Joshua Zirkzee to be more committed. “He is a great talent, but talent alone is not always enough. It is important that you work on yourself – and he does that,” said Flick on Friday.

The 19-year-old Dutch U21 international has “the quality to play in the Bundesliga, we are all convinced. But it’s also a little bit about the mentality, the attitude and the absolute will to show what you can”, stressed Flick .

“Wasn’t that happy with the constitution”

After two appearances with the professionals, Zirkzee last played for the 2nd team of Bayern in the 3rd division in September.

“He had problems with his ankle while on vacation and wasn’t able to train properly. Accordingly, I was not so happy with his physical condition,” reported Flick. “It’s getting better now, also with the U23 games.”
