Serie A, 2020-2021 calendar: Samp, Roma and Napoli immediately for Juve

Andrea Pirlo’s Juve started the championship at least on paper very hard. The Italian champions will debut at home against Sampdoria, on the second day they will challenge Roma at the Olimpico and will close the first cycle before the break for the national teams by hosting Napoli at the Stadium.

The first day, scheduled for the weekend of 19 and 20 September, also offers Milan-Bologna, Parma-Naples, Verona-Rome and Fiorentina-Turin. The challenges of Atalanta (away with Lazio) and Inter (at home with Benevento) have been postponed, having obtained the postponement from the League.

Big match e derby

On the second day Roma-Juve opens the series of big matches, on the third there are Juve-Napoli and Lazio-Inter, Milan-Roma in the fifth, Atalanta-Inter and Juve-Lazio in the seventh. Napoli-Milan is the highlight of the eighth day, at the ninth Napoli-Roma, at the twelfth Inter-Napoli and Juve-Atalanta, at the thirteenth Lazio-Napoli, at the fourteenth Milan-Lazio and Juve-Fiorentina. At the sixteenth Milan-Juve followed by Rome-Inter at the seventeenth, on the penultimate day Inter-Juve.
As for the derbies, the first will be Inter-Milan on 18 October. At the Milan derby scheduled for the fourth day, Sampdoria-Genoa will follow on the sixth, on November 1st. On 6 December, the tenth day, the derby of the Mole between Juventus and Turin. To close the Lazio-Rome picture on the 18th matchday of January 17th.

Six midweek shifts and three stops

There will be six midweek shifts and three scheduled stops. Midweek shifts: Wednesday 16 December, Wednesday 23 December, Wednesday 6 January 2021, Wednesday 3 March, Wednesday 21 April and Wednesday 12 May. Three stops, all concurrent with the commitments of the national teams: Sunday 11 October, Sunday 15 November, Sunday 28 March 2021. The calendar of the Italian Cup which will be played on Wednesday has also been defined: first elimination round on 23 September, second round 30 September , third October 28, fourth November 25, round of 16, January 13 and 20, 2021, quarterfinals January 27, first leg semi-final February 3, second leg semi-final February 10, final May 19.
