Tom Brady is playing this year for a coaching staff that Peyton Manning knows well. Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians coached Manning’s quarterbacks for his first three years in the NFL. Buccaneers quarterback coach Clyde Christensen coached the Colts’ offensive team in various capacities for 10 years of Manning’s career. And Buccaneers offensive consultant Tom Moore served as Manning’s offensive coordinator most of his time in Indianapolis.

It gives Manning a good perspective on what to expect at Tampa Bay this season, and Manning told Sam Farmer of the Los Angeles Times that he expects Brady to have a great season to play for the Buccaneers staff as Manning knows so well.

“I think he’s going to do really well,” Manning said of Brady. “Obviously I can tell how excited he is. I know Bruce and Clyde are thrilled to have him not only on the training and playing field, but also in the building as a leader. Certainly not under normal circumstances with the pandemic and the lack of an off-season program, but if anyone can handle that, it will be Tom.

Brady’s rivalry with Manning was perhaps the most important NFL rivalry of the 21st century, but now Manning finds himself a fan of Brady and the coaches he knows so well.
