Manchester United Transfer News SUMMARY New United Squad Numbers Plus Latest Sanchez & Van de Beek

Manchester United are monitoring Real Madrid left-back Sergio Reguilon amid uncertainty about their full-back situation.

Reguilon, 23, spent last season on loan at Sevilla and the MEN knows he has been followed by United’s recruiting department, led by head coach Mick Court.

Reguilon witnessed Sevilla draw in the 2-1 Europa League semi-final against United and was called up to Spain by coach Luis Enrique last month.

The Spaniard has appeared 22 times for Real Madrid and is hired at the Bernabeu club until 2023, but is behind Marcelo and Ferland Mendy in the left-back hierarchy.

United decided in November not to transfer for a left-back due to the emergence of Brandon Williams, after showing interest in Ben Chilwell prior to his £ 50m transfer to Chelsea. Williams, 20, started 25 times in his breakthrough season and signed a new four-year contract in August.

Luke Shaw excelled in the second half of last season until he suffered an ankle injury against Southampton and Williams was criticized by some for his run-in performance.
