“Wizards” general manager: Bertāns is still the club’s off-season priority – Basketball – Apollo.lv – Sports

Bertan will become a free agent after this season, but the team has expressed interest in keeping them.

“He has been our priority. I told him this personally, and nothing has changed,” Fred Kacs, a journalist for The Athletic, quoted Shepard as saying.

Bertan was the first of the Wizards basketball players to announce that he will not play in the season finale in Orlando. For Washington, the chances of a knockout tournament were only theoretical and Bertan’s decision was fully supported.

The Wizards team, also represented by Angie Pasecnik, won the Orlando bubble in just one of eight games.

This season, Bertāns played 54 games for the Washington Wizards, averaging 29.3 minutes per match, scoring 15.4 points, scoring 4.5 rebounds and scoring 1.7 times. Rūjie did a long shot with 42.4% accuracy and was one of the best snipers in the league.

For Bertan, last season was clearly the best in his NBA career, and his pay for the next contract is expected to be much higher than before. Prior to the change to Wizards, the Latvian had a two-year contract with San Antonio Spurs for a total amount of 14.5 million US dollars (12.9 million euros).

The NBA free agent market will open on October 18, but in the first week or October 19-23, no formal agreements can be reached.
