Browns CB Kevin Johnson suffers from liver laceration when teammate falls on him

Cleveland Browns cornerback Kevin Johnson was hospitalized after suffering a laceration to his liver when a teammate landed him during practice on Wednesday.

Johnson, initially diagnosed with an abdominal injury, is expected to be in hospital for another day for observation, the team said.

The Browns signed a one-year contract with Johnson this offseason, in hopes he would win the starting nickelback job.

Johnson is just the latest in a string of injuries the Browns suffered during training camp. Center JC Tretter and linebacker Mack Wilson both have knee injuries. Running back Nick Chubb had to go into concussion protocol after being hit on the first day of padded training earlier this week.
