Thiago Alcantara will now join Liverpool after helping Bayern Munich win the Champions League, according to well-respected German publication Der Spiegel.
The Spanish midfielder was in good shape when Bayern were knocked out 1-0 against Paris Saint-Germain in the second half thanks to a header from ex-PSG winger Kingsley Coman in the final in Lisbon.
Thiago, who was on the pitch for 86 minutes of the game, scored the most passes in the final. His consistent appearance in midfield helped his team take control of the game in the second half.
The 29-year-old has a year left on his Bayern contract but it has been widely reported that he will be leaving the club this summer with Jürgen Klopp’s Premier League champions at the top of the line.

Der Spiegel has now supplemented these claims by reporting that the former Barcelona man is hired on Merseyside.
In Thiago’s seven-year career at Bayern Munich it is said: “It is certain that it will end now and Thiago will move to Jürgen Klopp in Liverpool.
“To say goodbye with a victory in the Champions League would be a fitting conclusion.”
Bayern boss Hansi Flick discussed Thiago’s future after the game on Sunday and initially joked to journalists: “No, he told me he would stay.”

After laughing at that, he went on and added, “You made a radiant face!
“No, I just thanked him for our time together, just like any other player.
“I don’t know and he doesn’t know yet (which club he’s going to join) because we’ve all been focused on this Champions League final. I think we’ll have to wait and see what the next few days will bring.”
