Eagles activate Travis Fulgham, give up offensive lineman

The Philadelphia Eagles activated wide receiver Travis Fulgham and gave up offensive tackle Casey Tucker, according to an official team announcement.

The Eagles had a waiver for Fulgham after claiming him waivers on Thursday afternoon. Fulgham was eligible to be activated after going through the Eagles’ COVID-19 testing protocols.

Here’s what we previously wrote about Fulgham last week:

Fulgham showed some level of promise in the preseason last year. He led the Lions receiving seven receptions for 147 yards (21.0 averaged), including a 52-long. His summer success clearly didn’t translate into the regular season, however.

Fulgham is a bigger receiver at 6’2½ ”, 215 pounds. It is also quite long with 33 inch arms. Funny enough, the best athletic comparison of Fulgham on Mockdraftable is … JJ Arcega-Whiteside.

Fulgham obviously faces a strong chance of making it into the Eagles roster. The team already has 10 receivers on the 80-man roster in addition to having Alshon Jeffery on active / PUP. NFL clubs are due to downsize at 53 at 4:00 p.m. EST on September 5, so it’s not like Fulgham has plenty of time to impress as he tries to learn a new system.

Maybe the Eagles just wanted a camp corps, but maybe they feel like Fulgham has some advantages. It wouldn’t be a crazy thought. It will be interesting to see if he can win the consideration of the training team.

TBD which jersey number Fulgham will wear.

It’s no surprise that the Eagles gave up on Tucker because he was always seen as a camp corps to help fill the offensive line reps in camp.

The Eagles roster again has 80 players (plus Matt Leo on a bye). NFL teams must lower the limit to 53 regular-season players by 4:00 p.m. EST on Saturday, September 5.
