The promoters of the motion against Bartomeu already have the ballots

The promoters of the motion of censure against the management of Josep Maria Bartomeu have gone to look for the ballots in the offices of the club today Monday in which they will have to stamp the necessary 16,520 signatures of the members (15% of the electoral census) to be able to take the process to a referendum.

The Barça club has given its approval to the request for a motion made last Wednesday by the pre-candidate Jordi Farré, and now the promoters will have 14 working days (including Saturdays), which will start counting tomorrow Tuesday, to collect the signatures . Thus, they will have room to get them until Thursday 17 September. Despite this schedule set by the club, the promoters of the motion disagree and have filed a complaint to be able to collect signatures until September 21, four days later, understanding that Saturdays are not working days – al · legating, for example, that the club’s offices are not open on this day of the week. “We understand that it must be extended until the 21st in accordance with the last court ruling won by Agustí Benedito regarding the 2017 motion and we have asked that this period be extended by four days because they are very important for the collection. of signatures “, explained Marc Duch, president of the association Manifest Blaugrana.

In order to collect these signatures, the promoters of the motion will be organized from a headquarters in Balmes Street, in addition to the 50 collection points distributed throughout the city of Barcelona. Despite the exceptional situation due to the pandemic, the organization is optimistic. “The pandemic makes everything very difficult but we believe that the partner, now yes, must take this step because the situation is so critical … In the end we ask the partner 20 minutes of his life and with these minutes he can give his support for a motion that could save the club, ”Duch explains. In the event that the promoters exceed 15% of the signatures of its electoral census, which currently has 110,132 members, the club should hold a referendum that would only lead to the dismissal of Bartomeu and his board if they so wished, at least 66.6% of voters.

“In the end, what has to come and give the signature and when we give the signatures come to vote must be the member. We simply put a tool at the disposal of the members”, explains Jordi Farré, pre-candidate for the presidency of Barça. In addition to Farré, two more pre-candidates (Víctor Font and Lluís Fernández Alá) and the eight opinion groups from the Barça environment (Cor Blaugrana, Manifesto Blaugrana, Compromissaris FCB, Dignitat Blaugrana, Seguiment FCB, La Resistència de Palau, # Noiestwitterbarça and El Senyor Ramon) consider that FC Barcelona has been experiencing an institutional, economic and sporting crisis for some time, culminating in a 2-8 draw against Bayern Munich and Messi’s desire to leave the club.
