Over the past two years, talks of Brazilian striker Neymar joining one of the two Spanish giants – Barcelona and Real Madrid – have raged among fans and pundits, but any such move has yet to materialize. Now, it looks like the chances of the two Barcelona and Real Madrid legends – Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo – to join PSG are brighter than Neymar’s departure.

Messi has reportedly contemplated his exit from Barcelona following the club’s humiliating defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich in the Champions League. While there aren’t many clubs that can afford his salary, Paris Saint-Germain is certainly among those few clubs that can.

In Ronaldo’s case, European media reports suggest Juventus tried to dump the Portuguese due to his high salaries. Some even suggest that his agent was in contact with the Ligue 1 squad for a move in his transfer window.

Speaking of Messi’s chances, Ronaldo will join PSG, Neymar’s agent said the club owners have the financial power to sign both football superstars.

“Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. I’m serious: you can’t doubt Qatar’s economic power,” Wagner Ribeiro told Placar.

The issue of Neymar’s transfer to Barcelona has also recently been raised, with Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu not ruling out the 28-year-old’s return to Catalan. Regarding the topic of Neymar’s transfer, Ribeiro said the Brazilian is happy in Paris and is not thinking about a transfer now.

“There was a time when he was sad because of his injuries,” Ribeiro said. “At that time, he was inclined to leave, to return to Barcelona or Real Madrid. Not today, you can see how happy he is.”

“Living in the ‘City of Light’ where everyone wants to go for a walk, taste French cuisine, live in a nice house, friends and family nearby, play for one of the best clubs with everything a person could have need or how … what reason should you have left PSG today?

“Neymar is happy and I think he will stay at PSG for at least another two years. Today, without a doubt, it is easier for Messi to go to PSG than for Neymar to return to Barcelona.

As the season is over for both Messi and Ronaldo, Neymar would look to add another trophy to his cabinet by helping PSG win the UEFA Champions League when they clash against Bayern Munich in the final on Sunday.
