Zarco was punished for starting from the pits for the horror accident

French rider Johann Zarco was punished for his horror accident in Sunday’s Austrian MotoGP Grand Prix. A 30-year-old motorcyclist will start the pit lane for the nearest race he will take part in. He should serve his sentence already this weekend in the Styria Grand Prix, because today he underwent a medical examination and obtained permission to start in the second of the races at the Red Bull Ring.

Zarco collided with Franco Morbidelli in the eighth lap on Sunday in the eighth lap at a speed of more than 300 kilometers, and several opponents were very lucky to be able to weave unscathed among the flying wreckage of their machines. The race on the circuit in Spielberg was interrupted after the accident. Zarco broke his wrist in the accident, and Morbidelli escaped unharmed.

According to the management of the championship, Zarco caused the accident with a dangerous ride, so he was punished. In the end, he will probably serve his sentence in Austria. Although the two-time Moto2 World Champion had to skip surgery and injured today’s training for the Styria Grand Prix with an injured wrist, he received consent to return two days after the operation. He will return to the track in Saturday’s third practice.
