Fowler beats “gangster” Brisbane Roar and refuses to resign

Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler has claimed he was wrongly sacked as Brisbane Roar manager.

The former Reds striker left the A League club in June along with former Everton midfielder Tony Grant, who had worked alongside Fowler as his assistant.

The Australian-based club’s argument for Fowler’s departure was due to the “ongoing coronavirus situation”. Fowler and Grant returned to the UK in March just before the nationwide lockdown.

In Fowler’s first job in senior football management, the Liverpool legend had brought Brisbane to fourth place in the A-League table before the season was shortened due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Fowler brings his dispute with Brisbane to FIFA and has petitioned the governing body’s dispute settlement court that is expected to deliver a result within 30 days.

The Reds legend is demanding damages for having his two-year contract cut after less than 12 months and making the record clear for those who said he went out on Brisbane and the players.
