UEFA fine at PSG, coach Tuchel warns for kick-off in the second half

Paris Saint-Germain manager Thomas Tuchel’s halftime speech in an attempt to lead his team to victory in the Champions League quarter-finals cost the club € 30,000 ($ 35,500) on Friday. UEFA said its disciplinary commission imposed the fine and also warned Tuchel “to be responsible for the late kick-off” to resume Wednesday’s match here.

PSG led Atalanta 1-0 at half-time, then dominated the second half before scoring a brace in the final minutes to advance to the first semi-final in 25 years. UEFA often fines clubs for being late from the locker room to start the second half, which can affect broadcasters’ schedules. Critics often compare the magnitude of such fines unfavorably with similar amounts levied on clubs for racist behavior by fans in stadiums.

PSG will play against Leipzig on Tuesday.
