Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Gardner Minshew isn’t exactly a name in the minds of most fantasy football managers.

But anyone who loves beer might change their mind.

Bud Light announced on Tuesday that whoever chooses Minshew in the first round of their fantasy football draft will have a chance to enter to win a case of beer. And any team that wins their league championship with Minshew as the starting quarterback will have a chance at winning a season of Bud Light.

Managers can enter the raffle by taking a screenshot of Minshew as the top pick of their fantasy project and posting it on social media with the hashtag #BudLightMinshewDraft and #Sweepstakes.

“Free beer is what this country was built on, I’m pretty sure,” Minshew told USA TODAY Sports. “The fantastic football, and really the engagement with the fans this year is so important because with everything that is going on, I think football can be a great outlet for people. I think it will be a really fun way to communicate with all of us. “

While Minshew posted solid numbers in his rookie season, when he won the starting quarterback for the Jaguars, it could be risky to invest a first-round selection on the 24-year-old. Based on their use, running backs like the Panthers’ Christian McCaffrey, the Cowboys’ Ezekiel Elliott and the Giants’ Saquon Barkley are generally favored in the leagues. High volume receivers like Michael Thomas of the Saints, DeAndre Hopkins of the Cardinals and Julio Jones of the Falcons usually follow suit.

In ESPN’s fantasy football leagues, Minshew is selected with an average draft position of 168. By comparison, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is selected at an average position of 15.6, while MVP League reigning Lamar Jackson of the Ravens comes out of the table at 16.9.

In 14 games last season, Minshew completed 60.6% of his passes for 3,271 yards and 21 touchdowns with six interceptions. On the ground, Minshew also ran the ball 67 times for 344 yards.

Minshew said he has had a fantastic league going for about seven years since he was in high school. He said he recovered for a few games but then played poorly. He lost both in the NFL and in fantasy football.

“It was just too much to take,” Minshew joked. “I really don’t think I can put myself up again.”
