Harry Maguire was arrested after trying to help his sister who was stabbed in the arm by a “gangster-style” Albanian businessman.
Sources said last night that the Manchester United ace was with partner Fern in a bar in Mykonos on Thursday when his sister Daisy was approached by a group of Albanian men.
One of the men – described by sources as “gangster types” – started chatting with Daisy.
And when she refused it, she was hit in the arm with a sharp metal straw, which drew blood and made her pass out. Harry then intervened before a fight broke out.
A source said: “Harry saw what was going on and protested to them and things got heated.

“He decided to try to get out of there and wanted to call a taxi. But he ended up arguing with some undercover police officers and ended up at the local police station. “
Maguire, 27, and his friends were also furious the day before after the bar staff refused to confront the Brits who provoked him.
After his arrest, he spent the rest of the night in a detention room at the Mykonos police station, where he charmed the cops by talking to them about footie.
They brought in the United captain’s snacks until he was taken on a ferry to nearby Syros at 2pm on Friday. He spent the night in a cell there.
The £ 190,000-a-week footballer was later bailed out and told he could leave the country after he was denied a string of assault, verbal abuse and corruption charges on Saturday.
Maguire is not expected to attend his trial in Syros on Tuesday, where the maximum sentence could be three years in prison.
The Sun signals that the star could instead receive a suspended sentence.
